Celebrating the Power and Presence of the Holy Spirit through Worship

Tulsa, OK – When thousands of believers from around the world gather for the Jerusalem 2020 Empowered21 Global Congress, three widely acclaimed worship teams will lead the celebration at Pais Arena, June 1-3, 2020. Bethel Music, Gateway Worship, and Planetshakers will play an integral role in leading worshippers as they experience the power and presence of the Holy Spirit.

“I believe we all realize the role that authentic worship plays in our relationship to God,” said Oral Roberts University President and Empowered21 Global Co-Chair Dr. Billy Wilson. “We are anticipating a powerful time together over these three days as we gather to seek God and ask Him to pour out His Spirit as He did 2,000 years ago at Pentecost. Each of these groups has a proven heart for worship and will faithfully lead us toward that end.”

Bethel Music grew from being a relatively small local church music ministry to becoming a full-fledged record label and publishing company, featuring songwriters and worship leaders based out of Bethel Church in Redding, California, pastored by Bill Johnson, E21 Global Council member.

“What better place to lead people in worship than in Jerusalem, where Acts tells us the Holy Spirit fell and filled the believers with praise in different languages,” said Joel Taylor, CEO Bethel Music. “We are excited and honored to create a similar experience of worship for those who come to Jerusalem in 2020.”

Joining Bethel Music will be Gateway. Led by Mark Harris, Gateway is a new collective born out of the rich heritage that began over a decade ago with Gateway Worship and now features new voices, new songs reflecting the vision of cultivating a presence-driven worship culture and environment at Gateway Church and beyond.

“Our desire is to lead believers into a place of intimate worship,” said Gateway’s Senior Pastor and E21 Global Council member Robert Morris. “Those attending Jerusalem 2020 will have that experience through the Word of God expressed in music.”

Rounding out the trio will be the Planetshakers Band. Planetshakers is a church in Melbourne, Australia, founded by Russell Evans – the E21 Global Council member for Oceania – and his wife Sam. Over the years, it has grown to become a global movement with church campuses, conferences, and events in many nations. With over 30 internationally acclaimed albums, the Planetshakers Band tours around the world every year with a mandate to lead people into the presence of God.

“Our heart is to see people encounter God, be transformed by His presence, and empowered to make a difference in the world,” said Russell Evans. “We are looking forward to a powerful Jerusalem 2020.”

The first Jerusalem Global Congress was hosted by Empowered21 in May 2015 and attended by nearly 5,000 people from more than 70 nations. Television networks all over the world carried the event and an additional 180,000 people from 127 countries watched sessions through live streaming. Jack Hayford, Christine Caine, Samuel Rodriguez, and other Spirit-empowered leaders led the call to Congress attendees to celebrate Pentecost in the Land of Pentecost. It is with that same passion and purpose that the Jerusalem 2020 Empowered21 Global Congress will continue to challenge and inspire Spirit-empowered believers to reach the world for Christ.

Empowered21 aims to help shape the future of the global Spirit-empowered movement throughout the world by focusing on crucial issues facing the movement and connecting generations for intergenerational blessing and impartation. Their vision is that every person on Earth would have an authentic encounter with Jesus Christ through the power and presence of the Holy Spirit by Pentecost 2033.
